Sherry Swope

Sherry is a lifelong resident of Johnson County. She jokes that she was born here and already has her burial plot here—so she will be a lifelong resident even after she is gone! Sherry has been blessed with a wonderful son Tim who brings so much joy into her life. She retired in 2022 from case management and teaching and absolutely loves retirement.

When asked why she volunteers with Fuller Center of JoCoMo, Sherry said, ”I have been so blessed in my life. The Lord has provided me with everything that I need, maybe not all that I want, but all that I need. I was a single parent that always struggled to make ends meet so I was never able to donate lots of money, but I am able to devote my time to the Lord and to others. People in my community have helped me in the past, I love my community, and I want to pass the compassion and love that has been shown to me forward to others,

2 Corinthians 9:7 says, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Sherry is truly a cheerful giver and we appreciate everything she brings to our organization.
