We welcome the help of community members who would like to provide new housing opportunities to Johnson County, Missouri citizens. We have listed some of our committees that would love your support below. If you would like to help out in any capacity, please contact us.
Resource Development (aka as Fundraising!)
Resource Development hosts two fundraisers per calendar year. These events are organized by the R/D team with Fuller board and community assistance. The committee appreciates being advised of donations and any other events being planned for the purpose of advertising, catering, acknowledgments and ongoing knowledge of various supports relating to the development of resources. Any fundraising opportunities, not involving staffing, (for example, our recent Kansas City Chiefs ticket fundraiser) can be hosted by others.
Partner Selection
Whenever the Board decides to build an new house or rehab an existing home, the Partner Selection committee creates the necessary application forms, hosts informational meetings about the upcoming selection process, accepts applications and selects the next Fuller Center of Johnson County, Missouri partner. No new applications are being accepted at this time.
Building Volunteers
Here’s where volunteers can get hands-on with a build. Although volunteers with carpentry experience are always greatly appreciated, the build is supervised by a volunteer contractor selected by the Board. Therefore, building chores can be assigned that meet any volunteer’s skill set … including lesser skilled tasks such as clean up, moderatly skilled tasks like painting and specialty skills like roofing. We can help you learn new skills, too, if you are interested.
Church Relations
Throughout the United States and abroad churches and various religious groups often volunteer to work together by extending their hospitality to our building volunteers (for example, with meals) or working at a build site together or hosting a fundraiser. Gather members from your church group together and have fun together while serving our community.
Real Estate
Our Real Estate committee steps up whenever need; for example when a lot that is donated to the Fuller Center is not needed/suitable for building a new home, but the fund from selling the lot are needed.
