News Brief: October 9, 2023

We had a busy month in September.

  • We completed a Greater Blessing Project by replacing a shower for a person who needed a more accessible shower. We also replaced his bathroom floor and built new steps going into his home. What a blessing this was for this individual. While these may seem like small things, these projects will enable this individual to remain in his home independently and safely.
  • We participated in “Get the Red Out” at the University of Central Missouri where we met many wonderful UCM Students.
  • We also celebrated with a homeowner completion of her Greater Blessing home repairs where a contributive dinner was held at a local park.

We have exciting projects coming up in October.

  • We will be having a work day on October 21st for a homeowner near Knob Noster. We will be replacing a rotting floor, fixing leaking plumbing, mending wall ducts, and securing flooring.
  • We always appreciate volunteers who want to enrich the lives of other. In addition to volunteers for skilled and unskilled carpentry work, we would also appreciate donations of lunch/snacks for our workers that day.

  • Our Fuller Board meeting is scheduled for October 16th at 5:30 in the Franklin Building at 123 E. Gay in Warrensburg. The meeting is open to public and all are welcome to attend. The entry door is in the back of the building at the top of the stairs. If accommodations are needed, just let us know ahead of time and we can open the front door.
  • We are always in need of committee members, board members and community input. Come visit us and see how you can make a difference in our community.

Consider making a year-end donation.

  • Just a thought: as we are approaching the end of the year, consider donating to help homeowners in our community make their homes warmer, safer and drier.
  • Because we do not build with government funds, we rely on the generosity of private groups, churches, businesses and people like you to extend a hand-UP to families in need of simple, decent places to live. Thank you for your support!
  • Fuller Center for Housing of Johnson County, Missouri is a nonprofit organization and any donations made to our organization are tax deductible.
